The Swedish Collection

Inspired by 1950's designers and given a Scandinavian twist

My Swedish Collection draws inspiration from some of the most iconic British designers of the 1950's, but with a subtle 'Scandinavian' twist. It depicts simple images of birds and stylized foliage in soft Gustavian colours such as Dove, Dusky Pink, and Duck Egg, and in bright contemporary colours such as Sweet Pea, Pumpkin, and Lime.

I wanted to capture the nostalgia of a very English style, but reinterpret it in a way that wasn't too quaint or fussy; in essence, to bridge the gap between town and country, classic and contemporary, without ever seeming as though it's trying too hard or looking out of place.

Designs include Up the Garden Path, a beautiful trellis design in cream with coloured backgrounds, Pretty Maids, and Stockholm Stripe. We also have Dawn Chorus, a Lucienne Day inspired design that has diagonal cream dots that links to wonderfully illustrated birds nestled amongst stylised patterns.
