Quilts & Bedspread Fabrics

Quilt fabrics can be used to make reversible, Made to Measure Quilts which can be used on beds, sofas and chairs. They can be ordered with either a piped edge, flat border, or 8cm frill to craft your perfect handmade quilted bedspreads.

Our designer quilts are handmade in the Cotswolds in the UK, and are filled with a luxurious wadding making them wonderfully warm. All the quilted bedspreads are made from up to three different fabrics of your choice.

With more fabric options to choose from, you can have a double-sided quilt that can be used all year round.

All styles of bespoke bedspreads and quilts can be made in the following sizes:

Small: 140cm x 215cm

Medium: 185cm x 215cm

Large: 200cm x 225cm

Extra Large: 235cm x 225cm

If you would like a quilt to hand liberally down the sides of the bed, please measure your mattress to compare against our sizes and order a larger quilt if needed.

How do I calculate how much fabric I need to make a printed bed quilt?

If you are making your own handmade quilt, you can make it any size, and you can keep to one width of fabric if you prefer so your quilt will have a maximum width of 135cm.

Our Made to Measure luxury quilted bedspreads are set sizes so that they luxuriously cover the bed. You need to buy some wadding from your local haberdashery or online, and follow the instructions in Vanessa's Home Sewing Book.

What is the most suitable fabric for making quilts, and how do I pick the right quilt fabric?

All of our designer fabrics are suitable for making luxury quilted bedspreads and comforters. They are also perfect as luxury throws to clamber under on a cold winter night - there is nothing more appealing than snuggling under a patchwork quilt listening to the rain on the windows outside.
