Made to Measure Curtains

Do you have any plum coloured fabrics for curtains?

Plum curtains range from vibrant violet to pale lavender. Whether you blanket a whole room with the colour or just use plum coloured curtains as an accent, this mystical hue is bound to make a statement.

Plum purple curtain fabric offers a spirited mood. However, to add a more youthful feel, mix plum purple curtains with other colours, such as grey, green, pink, and white.

Our Plum fabrics are a soft aubergine, a warm shade of purple, homage to red and purple, with a touch of yellow. This Plum shade paired with a mossy green is common in French and shabby chic decors.

Plum fabric designs can be found in the Orchard Collection. Vanessa has combined it with Kale green in several coordinating designs such as Fruit Garden and May Blossom. There is also have Herbaceous Border Detail containing the plum colour, with complementary greens and dusky pinks.

You can buy plum shade fabrics in increments of 10cm, starting from at 50cm, and use them for cushions, curtains, blinds and more.

What colours go well with plum curtain fabrics?

Several shades of green, especially Kale and Olive, look great with plum. Kale green is as earthy as it gets! See Fruit Garden design and also May Blossom, which major on the Plum colour with an accent of Kale green.

Any of our greens from Sepals and Petals, to Simple Ticking Detail in Kale, will contrast very well with Plum fabrics.

A touch of Charcoal grey or Dove grey also coordinate well and ground the colour scheme in a room; three colours always make the room look less contrived. So, try Plain Linen Union in Charcoal and Dove in particular, for a bed valance or cushions. Contrast with pale pink velvet curtains for a vintage feel and different texture in the room.

You could bring these same colours in with a little pattern; try the contemporary Sepals and Petals. Moss green in the Wild Fern, Sow and Scatter and Little Fern designs is also a softer alternative to the earthier greens.

How to measure up for your curtains:

A video guide to help you measure up

Please remember that pattern repeats and fabric widths are automatically calculated if you order through our website. It is advisable to fit your pole or track before ordering your curtains. Your pole or track should ideally extend 30cms on each side of the window so when drawn back light is maximised and at least 15cms above the top of the window to block out as little light as possible again. Please use metric units only when measuring.

Poles:

WidthIf you have a pole, measure the distance between the finials. (A)

Finished Length for pencil pleat, triple pleat and double pleat - when measuring the finished length using a curtain pole, we recommend allowing between 2cms and 5cms above the eyelet on the underside of the curtain ring, depending on how much of the pole and rings you wish to hide. From the measurement you choose above the eyelet, measure down to the bottom of the hem (see B & C) and that is your finished length measurement.

Finished length for cottage pleat (choice of either 5cm or 10cm depth)- these have to be made using a 3cm single position tape, which makes the finished length non adjustable. To measure the finished length for this header, please provide us with the distance from the eyelet to the floor, and depending on your choice of depth, add 5cm or 10cm accordingly.

Finished length for flop over frill - these curtains have to be made with a 3cm single position tape which makes the finished length non adjustable. To measure the finished length for this header, just give us the measurement from the eyelet to the floor. Don't add any extra for the frill, we will do that.

Please note, we will add 25cm for hem allowance.
