More than any other pattern, spotted fabrics have a natural freshness that can lift any scheme in seconds. Be it traditional or modern, bedroom or bathroom, by adding a spotty lampshade, your home will take on a charming, classic vibe that will never date.

One of the most popular spotty fabrics is the award-winning Pretty Maids, (House and Garden Award). This comes in many, many colours and coordinates with most of the other main designs.

Plain Dotty has a very subtle and dainty spot, which makes it a great lampshade fabric.

In the May Blossom spotty fabric, the spots are drawn from organic seed head shapes. There are 4 colourways including wonderful colours such as Peach and Plum. All of these would make stunning lampshades, large or small.

What is your spotted fabric best used for?

Spots are undeniably fresh and fun, so are perfect for lampshades for all rooms in a house. This is a lovely gender neutral choice for children's rooms too, that can be given a spirited touch with colourful accents as the child grows. The spotted fabric is a timeless choice.

What colours work best for lampshades covered with your spotted fabric range?

Yellow spotted fabrics can add energy to any room in the house. The type and amount of light that a lampshade gives out will be affected by the colour of the lampshade. The Pretty maids in Cream and Winter would be the most useful choice, as this will go with all colours. The more colour the bigger statement, and it’s wonderful to choose one that coordinates with your other soft furnishings in the room.

There are four shapes to choose from: Empire, Drum, Pleated, and Candle (always sold as a pair), along with several size options. You can choose a second fabric to line the lampshade; applicable to Drum Lampshades only.

You can buy our fabrics in 10cm increments, starting at 50cm, and make your own lampshade. Alternatively, you can use our Made to Measure service and we will make one, especially for you.

Please ask for fabric samples and see the colours in your rooms. If you order a half metre returnable sample you can drape them over your existing shades, or just in situ to where the shade will go, and see how it looks. All our fabrics are printed in the UK on a good weight of 100% Linen, and Linen Union, making them suitable for lampshades, curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery. We hold a good stock of all our fabrics ensuring delivery is usually within 3-5 working days subject to availability. The same team, who takes your order will roll, inspect and cut it, so accuracy and quality can be assured.
