Made to Measure Roller Blinds
Vanessa Arbuthnott’s Cow Parsley Roller Blinds are inspired by the charm of picturesque Cotswold scenery in Gloucestershire. Get delicate wildflower and butterfly inspired patterns on fabrics for your roller blinds to bring a touch of classic English countryside into your home.
Available in a variety of popular and soothing colors like Duck Egg and Cornflower, the blinds are handcrafted to order from the organic fabric of your choice.
Choose from laminated or blackout linings to suit your privacy needs. Additionally, you can customise your blinds with contrast borders in vibrant shades like Saffron or Cornflower, making them the perfect feature for any room.
Why Cow Parsely?
The stunning Cotswold scenery that surrounds Vanessa's home in Gloucestershire, including the Cow Parsley wildflower, has always served as her greatest source of artistic inspiration. With butterflies resting on flower heads, it exudes a classic English feel.
All of the colour schemes are ideal for Roller Blinds, with Duck Egg and Cornflower being one of the most popular because of its soft, delicate hue. They are all printed on a smooth Linen Union fabric that is a blend of organic cotton and linen.
What linings are available for my Cow Parsley Roller Blinds?
Either a laminated or a blackout lining is provided. The white laminated reverse lining is adhered to the fabric's main face but is not entirely blackout. It does provide privacy, however, as well as allowing some light to filter through. Once more sewn to the main fabric, the blackout lining offers light blocking and privacy at the same time. Both are recommended as backings to help provide privacy and protection of the fabric for longevity. We also provide an unlined, or "processed," blind if privacy is not a priority for the blind that will be installed in a particular room. This will just be the fabric on its own that has a stiffening spray applied to it for rigidness. It will depend on your measurements since this is produced from a single width of fabric, making the maximum width for a processed blind that we can make, 133cm.
What other colours can I incorporate with my Cow Parsley Roller Blind?
We offer the Cow Parsley in a variety of colours, from delicate Duck Egg blues to vibrant Saffron yellows. You can therefore use a contrast border to include these colours into your blind. However, bear in mind that every butterfly on the Cow Parsley design is in a different colour from the background, so you can pick up this colour on the border as well as on other items in the room if you want to add subtly effective colour coordinates.
In the aforementioned finishings for your Made to Measure soft furnishings and furniture, for instance, the Cornflower blue on the Sand Cow Parsley can be picked up with either another printed fabric, like Little Fern - Cornflower, or with a Plain Linen Union.
How to measure up for your Roller Blind:
Inside a window recess
Width: Measure the width of the recess from the left to the right (see E on the diagram)
Length: Measure from the top of the recess to the bottom (see E on the diagram)
YOU ONLY NEED TO PROVIDE US WITH THE FULL RECESS MEASUREMENT - the maker will allow for the rolling mechanism when making the blinds (There will be a gap of about 1.5cm between the fabric and the recess wall which will allow some light through, even with a blackout lining)
Outside a window recess
Width: Measure the outside of the window recess (see F on diagram) and add at least 5cms on each side to minimise any light leaking through.
Length: Measure from the required position above the window (we recommend adding at least 5cm), to the length you require (see F on the diagram)
This also applies to blinds that will be fitted to the outside of a door recess, we only need the width and length that you would like the finished blind to be.
Please note that if your roller blind is outside the recess, we have to allow for the mechanism at either side of the roller blind, which is usually 1.5cm each side. For example, if you want the fabric width of your blind to measure 100cm, you need to specify this upon placing your order as 'finished fabric width', otherwise our makers will assume it is the recess width, and cut the fabric down to 97cm with the remaining 3cm for the mechanism, i.e. 100cm full fabric width + 3cm for mechanism, making the final recess width 103cm.
Your Roller blinds will be delivered complete with hanging instructions and fittings.
